DESCRIPTION:Who is Working with Adults for?Working with Adults is aimed at Section Team Leads and Section Team members in Scouts. It aims to provide them with the knowledge and skills to communicate effectively with other adults and understand how teams work\, including the different roles people play and how different personality types impact on teams. \n\n\n\nBy the end of this module you should be able to:– Communicate effectively with other adults by:– Selecting appropriate communication methods– Identifying features of non–verbal communication– Planning communications– Demonstrating effective listening skills– Describe the different roles that individual’s fulfil in teams– Describe the typical stages of team development– Identify different personality types that individual’s portray– Identify their own preferred team role and typical personality type– Describe 5 approaches to resolving conflict with other adults

SUMMARY:Skills of leadership (Module 8)
DESCRIPTION:Who is Skills of Leadership for?Skills of Leadership is aimed at all Team Leaders and Team Members in Scouts. It aims to provide them with the knowledge and skills to demonstrate leadership in the context of Scout Teams where leadership of a team may change according to the task and be dynamic\, be able to plan systematically\, lead effectively by demonstrating a range of leadership styles and understand how different leadership styles impact on learning. It also provides optional learning on the key leadership skills of delegation and motivation. \n\n\n\nBy the end of this module you should be able to: \n\n\n\n\nDefine what it means to “lead”\n\n\n\nDescribe and apply a model of systematic planning\n\n\n\nAnalyse and enact the functions of a leader in terms of: a. Identifying tasks to be done b. Actions to assist the team to work effectively c. Meeting the needs of individuals within the team d. Identify and apply a range of leadership styles e. Identify their own predominant style of leadership f. Apply different leadership styles in different situations\n\n\n\n\nNote: this course will not cover all of this content in full detail (is 5.5 hours of learning)

It does not however cover leading or supporting international trips and nights away. \n\n\n\nBy the end of this module you should be able to: \n\n\n\n\nList the benefits of international activities for young people.ll of this content in full detail (is 5.5 hours of learning)\n\n\n\n\n\nExplain the worldwide nature of Scouting and the role of the World Membership Badge.\n\n\n\nOutline the major international Scouting events and activities and explain how young people can become involved in them.\n\n\n\nDetail how international aspects feature in the Programme.\n\n\n\nSuggest ways of obtaining resources\, ideas and material to support the international aspects of their section’s programme.\n\n\n\nSuggest ways to include/emphasise the importance of including international aspects (including visits and expeditions as appropriate) as an integral part of their section’s programming.
